Nº 000002 · ZERO NETWORK · THE PORTING DESK

Your chat history, portable.

Port your AI chat history anywhere. Drop in an export zip from ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, or Gemini Takeout — Curtis AI Porter converts it to Curtis records and Obsidian-ready markdown, entirely in your browser.

The guarantee

Why the tool on this page can be trusted.

01

Zero network

The conversion runs entirely in this page — no uploads, no API calls, no account. Open your browser devtools and watch it do nothing.

02

Round-trip verified

A conversion only counts as done if the file re-serializes byte-for-byte. Fidelity is a test the tool has to pass, not a promise it makes.

Everything in, everything out

Eight formats detected on arrival — you never pick one. Exports, pastes from DeepSeek, Kimi, Z.ai and friends, or .curt; back out as continuation packs, ChatGPT-shape JSON, or API JSONL. Re-port an old export and duplicates are skipped.

The same converter, scripted

Also a CLI, and an Obsidian plugin.

The converter behind the tool above ships as curt-porter — convert, export, verify, stats, serve — and as a standalone plugin that works in a vault with or without Curtis Chat installed. Releases carry build-provenance attestations.

NOT YET — STATED PLAINLY

Bulk import into ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini does not exist — those platforms have no write API. Continuation packs are the workaround: a token-budgeted excerpt of your history you can attach to a live chat elsewhere.

Foreign imports are text-only — only images Curtis attached itself round-trip. ChatGPT's branch trees flatten to one timeline, and foreign tool-call output is dropped on purpose, so a continued chat doesn't break.

Stated plainly

Free, and it stays on your machine.

Porter is free to use and works with the network off — open this page offline and it still converts. The source is in the repository; nothing is phoned home because there is nowhere to phone.
