Terms of service.
Plain terms for buying and using Curtis. They apply to the hosted tier purchased on this site and to use of the free local plugin. Questions first — [email protected].

1. What the Founder purchase includes.
One payment grants lifetime access to the Curtis hosted tier: the web application served by Curtis AI, cloud memory across your devices, scheduled agents, and Porter cloud-premium. Access is personal to you; an invite is issued to the email used at purchase.
2. What it does not include.
Model inference. Curtis is bring-your-own-key on every tier — you maintain your own accounts with AI providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Z.ai, or others) and pay them directly for what you use. Curtis never resells inference.
3. Fulfillment.
After payment you'll see a confirmation with the next steps. Your invite to the hosted tier is sent to the email you paid with, usually within 48 hours. If it hasn't arrived, check spam, then write to [email protected] from that same email.
4. Refunds.
Request a full refund within 14 days of purchase by writing to [email protected] from the email you paid with. After 14 days, purchases are non-refundable, except where required by law.
5. Beta status.
Curtis is in active development. The hosted tier is provided as-is during the beta period; features may change, and the service may be unavailable while we ship. We target no specific uptime during beta.
6. Acceptable use.
- Don't share your hosted access beyond your own use.
- Don't use Curtis to break the law or violate your AI providers' terms.
- Don't attempt to disrupt the service or other customers' use of it.
Breaking these rules can end your access; section 4 still applies to your purchase.
7. The local plugin.
The Obsidian plugin is free and licensed separately — see the license page. These terms don't restrict what you run locally; the plugin keeps your records on your machine.
8. Lifetime, minimum term, and fair use.
"Lifetime" means for as long as Curtis AI operates the hosted tier — and at minimum 5 years from your purchase date. If the hosted tier shuts down within those 5 years, you receive a pro-rata refund of the unused remainder, no request needed. After 5 years, lifetime access simply means exactly that: for the life of the service. Fair use applies to shared infrastructure: heavy automated traffic that degrades the service for others may be rate limited.
9. Changes.
If these terms change, the revised version publishes at this address with a new date below. Material changes affecting active purchases will be emailed to the address on file. See also the privacy policy.
